Hello! I’m Rachael: the beauty, the brains and the brawn behind this full service residential interior design and decorating practice. I’m excited to introduce myself and get to know you better. My design firm is currently based in Richmond, British Columbia and I service both the Greater Vancouver and Vancouver Island areas. My approach to design is to capture and represent the individuality of my clients in every project with an emphasis on functional spaces, dynamic design and meticulous planning.

It all starts with an idea, but how does that idea come to fruition? Beyond the talent of visualizing a concept, comes the experience of product knowledge in a vast and ever-changing industry, and the professional training in numerous communicative tools that express exactly how the finished product should look. Executing a well-designed space is why professionals like me exist, and I have been honing each and every one of these skills since I graduated with my Interior Architectural Design Diploma and started designing professionally in 2010.

My strength is in the details. Far beyond simply providing you with a design concept, I give you all of the tools to make that design a reality. Within each home renovation or new home construction project, you are provided with detailed construction drawings, comprehensive materials specifications and installation notes and guidelines that are used to communicate how each of your design elements will come to life. The selection of each material and fixture is documented, budgeted, and accounted for all prior to the construction phase, allowing time for your design to completely unfold and items to be ordered well in advance.

When we decided to do renovations we weren't initially sure if we wanted to use a designer. We thought it was something that we could handle ourselves. We knew Rachael before we asked for her help to renovate our three bathrooms. She had helped us furnish our new home, so she already had an idea of our style. Rachael did all the heavy lifting, choosing a vast array of materials, paints and fixtures for us to choose from. Rachael is amazing! Never in a million years would I think I would ever use a designer, but she made my move from a house to a condo so seamless and easy that I would never do a move without her again.

I still use her expertise today, as I just changed my whole condo layout using all my existing furniture by looking at one of the floor plan designs she gave me 6 years ago!. It’s like I have a whole new place! I started working with Rachael in 2013/2014 with just a “floor plan” of my new condo. We both never laid eyes on the actual condo beforehand. She envisioned exactly what I was looking for before I did. At any given time, she only gave me 2-3 choices to choose from so I never felt overwhelmed. We used some of my existing pieces that I wanted to bring with me and we bought new pieces.
